Port Vale V Gillingham at Vale Park - Match Preview

Jones pushes for Vale recall

Daniel Jones comes back into the reckoning for Port Vale as they prepare to host Gillingham.

Jones missed out against Crawley in midweek through suspension following his red card in the away defeat to Sheffield United.

However, after Micky Adams' men won 3-0 at the Broadfield Stadium on Tuesday night, the left-back may struggle to immediately reclaim his place in the starting line-up.

Vale boss Adams will not make too many changes to his side and may even name an unchanged team against the club he represented as a player between 1979 and 1983.

Gillingham interim boss Peter Taylor will hand a late fitness test to forward Danny Kedwell.

Kedwell has a slight hamstring problem and is rated as doubtful for Saturday's clash.

Otherwise Taylor has a fully-fit squad to pick from but he is unlikely to make wholesale changes to the team that beat Notts County in midweek.

Midfielder Amine Linganzi is vying for a place in the starting line-up after coming off the bench in the Gills' last outing.
