Port Vale V Stevenage at Vale Park - Match Preview

No new worries for Vale

Port Vale manager Micky Adams has no new problems and plenty of options ahead of the visit of Stevenage.

Captain Doug Loft and goalkeeper Chris Neal remain on the sidelines with their respective calf and wrist injuries. Fit-again Dan Jones and Robert Taylor were on the bench against Salisbury last week in the FA Cup, with the latter coming on as a substitute.

Taylor scored one and set up two more as Vale overcame the non-league side 4-1 and his performance, together with his comeback goal against Crewe recently, may earn him a starting role this weekend.

Liam Chilvers, Louis Dodds, Ben Williamson and Lee Hughes will also be vying for recalls as Adams' men chase an eighth win in the last 10 matches.

Simon Heslop and Filipe Morais are suspended for Stevenage.

Midfielder Heslop and winger Morais serve one-match bans after they received their fifth yellow cards of the season in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy against Swindon in midweek.

Defender Ben Chorley came through the full 90 minutes of the penalty shoot-out defeat after eight months on the sidelines with groin and thigh problems, so a second match in four days may be too much for him.

Striker Darius Charles is the only definite injury absentee as he continues his recovery from ankle ligament damage.
