Shortwood Utd V Port Vale at NA - Match Preview

Cant returns for Shortwood

Shortwood will be boosted by the return of Jon Cant as they look to cause a giantkilling against League One Port Vale.

Cant has fully recovered from recent treatment and his return boosts the jubilant squad that knocked out Skrill Premier side Aldershot in the previous round.

And they have no fresh injury or suspension worries as they prepare for their televised Monday night clash as their clash with Swindon Supermarine was cancelled on Wednesday night.

Shortwood play in the Uhlsport Hellenic League and when the draw was made, 125 places separated them from Micky Adams' side.

Adams is expected to freshen things up for the trip.

Vale lost 5-2 to Swindon in their last outing and the former Leicester boss is likely to react by shuffling his pack for the trip to the lowest-ranked club left in the competition.

Left-back Daniel Jones is in contention to return to the starting XI, while striker Lee Hughes, who came off the bench to score against Swindon, may start.

Adams, who has stressed the importance of beating the Calor League Southern Division One South and West side, looks set to name a strong side.
