Bottom club are pain in Vale's ar*e!

United hadn't won in 7 home games, whereas Vale have an enviable record on their travels.

Despite starting the more lively, Vale had to fight to come back from a 15th minute goal from Hereford's Sean Canham, who was later red carded.

James McQuilkin's freekick was converted by Canham after Adam Yates had fouled Bauza.

However, Canham was sent off only 11 minutes later for a professional foul. Marc Richards calmly converted the penalty, his 9th goal of the season.

Hereford failed to crumble and won a penalty on the stroke of half time, Anthony Griffith turfing off Dominik Werling. But Guillem Bauza's spot kick was saved by Vale keeper Stuart Tomlinson.

In the second half, Micky Adams threw on Taylor, Loft and Dodds. But despite heavy second half pressure there was no way through for a winner for Vale against Hereford's resolute 10 players.

With Chesterfield netting a late winner, Vale remain top but only 1 point clear, but...

...Micky Adams will NOT be pleased with only a point against the bottom side's 10 men.
