Port Vale 2-1 Barnsley: Match Report - view commentary, squad, and statistics of the game as it happened.Magic Marshall boosts ValeA brilliant individual goal a minute from time by man of the match Mark Marshall earned Port Vale a deserved 2-1 victory against Barnsley.Winger Marshall was prominent as Vale, with caretaker manager Rob Page in charge following the resignation of Micky Adams, made a determined start.And steady pressure brought its reward in the 24th minute after Louis Dodds was tripped by Joe Dudgeon 20 yards from goal.Michael O'Connor stepped up and curled a terrific right-foot shot over the defensive wall and into the top right-hand corner of Ross Turnbull's net.A Dodds shot was cleared off the line by Jean-Yves M'voto with the Barnsley defence rocking again as half time approached.Dudgeon also cleared a goal-bound shot from Jordan Slew eight minutes after the break before the visitors equalised against the run of play in the 59th minute.O'Connor fouled Conor Hourihane and he made no mistake with the resulting penalty, which he drove left-footed low inside Chris Neal's left-hand post.Vale squandered a great chance to restore their lead when Slew fired over from the penalty spot after he was pushed ov by M'voto in the 71st minute.But Marshall buried a low right-foot shot from 14 yards inside Turnbull's right-hand post after twisting and turning his way past three defenders in the 89th minute
