The new deal means that Adams, who joined the club in June will now stay at Vale Park until at least June 2012.
He said: "I've been impressed by the attitude and work ethic of the players since I joined Port Vale and I want to achieve long-term success here.
"Everyone behind the scenes is also working hard to take the club forward and I see no reason why we can't achieve the right results."
