His contract is set to expire in the summer meaning he is now free to talk to other interested clubs should he wish.
But, while no talks have yet taken place with Vale, the 27-year-old is keen to discuss a new deal, although he also remains fully focused on his football.
"I'd be happy to sit down and talk about extending my contract," he told The Sentinel.
"At the moment, though, I want to concentrate on my own game and we'll take it from there."
