Vale 0 Gillingham 0

At ten to five the referee put the 6,420 crowd out of its misery by blowing the whistle on one of the poorest games seen at Vale Park for a long time.

Highlights included Gillingham's 5 corners (Vale had none); Vale's 4 goal attempts on target to Gillingham's 2 (the best being Marc Richards' late late header straight at the keeper); one yellow card (Gillingham's Mark Bentley, for dissent - althought he also hit the woodwork twice); and finally leaving the ground (knowing one hadn't got to put up with anymore of this game).

Subsequently, on this performance Vale deservedly slipped to 2nd place, and Gillingham deservedly hit a new club record of 33 games without an away win.

Makes you proud.
