Wycombe 1 Vale 1

Wycombe were made mincemeat of by an eager Vale, but points were ultimately shared. Doug Loft had two good strikes saved in the first half, but Vale eventually went ahead in the second.

Kris Taylor crossed from the left, and Wycombe's Leon Johnson obligingly swiped the ball into his own net on 47 minutes.

But 10 minutes later, Scott Donnelly squeezed through Vale's defence like a hot knife through butter, and blasted home an equaliser into the corner of the net.

Vale had a goal disallowed, but should have won the game with a late penalty, the luck-less Johnson handling Loft's cross.

But with Justin Richards substituted, it was left to Tom Pope to take the kick, and his spot-kick was saved by the legs of Nikki Bull.

Vale are 5th...but could have been 4th.
