League Two leaders Wycombe held onto their unbeaten start to the season after winning a six-goal thriller against a brave Port Vale side.

Wanderers are the only unbeaten side in all four leagues and they had two goals each from Matt Harrold and Chris Zebroski to thank for all three points.

The strike pair bagged their fifth and sixth goals of the season, while Marc Richards and Scott Brown replied for Vale.

Harrold slotted home a 23rd minute penalty after Lee Collins was adjudged to have felled Angelo Balanta.

Zebroski expertly made it two on the stroke of half-time as he was played in by Gary Holt.

Vale skipper Richards reduced the arrears from the spot four minutes into the second period after Craig Woodman brought down David Howland.

Zebroski fired home into the top right hand corner from inside the box on 64 minutes to seemingly put the Chairboys back in control.

But Brown kept the visitors in the hunt just a minute later when his shot from the edge of the area found the same corner after good work from Simon Richman.

The game was definitely up for the Valiants when Harrold gave his manager Peter Taylor the opportunity to relax by latching onto goalkeeper Scott Shearer's long punt forward to calmly slot home with just over eight minutes of normal time remaining.

There is no doubt that Vale will play worse than this and come away with either one point or the full three, but Wycombe's bandwagon keeps on rolling.
